How Do I Mentor an Honor Student?
In this workshop, honors directors Lynne Andreozzi-Fontaine (Psychology) and Karen Kortz (Physics) will guide a discussion about the faculty side of the Honors Program. Participants will explore the wide range of projects students can do, consider faculty requirements and expectations, discuss benefits for faculty, and learn how to ensure a successful experience for both the faculty member and the student. This workshop will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, in Room 2362 at the Flanagan Campus and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, in Room 4560 at the Knight Campus.
Jim Salisbury (Library) will be discussing the progress of the Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative at CCRI. Since its announcement one year ago, OER has made great advances at the college. Take the time to see what is happening, what your colleagues are doing, and the impact on the students at CCRI.
