In her comments at the Convocation, President Hughes stated that the college will be renewing its focus on safety and security this academic year. College Police will be leading this effort that will feature communication and training of students, staff and faculty. These communication and training initiatives include rolling out an updated Emergency Management Plan, Town Halls at each campus this semester, and specialized “Safety Briefings” on key topics that are important to all of us.
Topics to be covered in the Safety Briefings include emergency preparedness, natural disasters, and campus violence. The goal of these Safety Briefings is to ensure that all students, staff and faculty are prepared in the event any of these threats become a reality at our college.
The first Safety Briefing will focus on the threat of an active shooter and are scheduled as noted below. No registration is necessary.
