History professor and author Jen Manion was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship to examine cultural representations of transgender experience in the 18th and 19th centuries. A lunchtime forum “Born in the Wrong Time: Transgender Archives and the History of Possibility, 1740–1890” will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, in the rear of the faculty dining room at the Flanagan Campus in Lincoln. A lecture will follow at 1 p.m. in Room 1336.
