Starting this fall, CCRI will begin to communicate with our students via text messaging. Initially, this service will be used only to support student registration and to keep students informed of important and time-sensitive information such as enrollment and financial deadlines.
As you know, communicating effectively goes a long way toward helping students succeed in college, and it is critical that we speak to them where they are. By adding text messages to our communications toolkit, we are not only modernizing our messaging but ensuring that students receive key notifications that will help them stay on track to graduate and transfer.
Students who have provided the college with a cellphone number will be enrolled automatically in this notification service and have the opportunity to unsubscribe and opt out at any time. Last week, all CCRI students received an email about this new communication tool.
Please note that this notification service is currently only available for students and not for faculty and staff. It is also important to note that RAVE will continue to serve as our texting service for college emergencies and weather advisories.
If you have any questions about this new initiative, please contact me at 401-825-2117 or email email@example.com.
