Sabbagh named dean of Business, Science and Technology

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Sabbagh, Ph.D., as dean of Business, Science and Technology. He has been working in higher education for more than 25 years and has filled this role on an interim basis for CCRI since Jan. 1. He previously served as the interim program director for the TAACCCT-3 grant at CCRI.

A Rhode Island native, he began his career as a teacher and administrator in the workforce development division of Fisher College in Boston. Has held various positions at public community colleges and four-year private colleges, including eight years as an associate dean and dean of two STEM divisions in the community college system in Massachusetts. There, he was instrumental in helping to develop new programs in biotechnology and engineering technology, as well as other certificate concentrations in the sciences.

His work at four-year institutions was both at the graduate and undergraduate level, where he held senior administrative academic leadership positions in business, science and technology. He has held faculty rank within the business management disciplines and has taught regularly both on campus and online.

He also has managed online learning departments, helped grow enrollments, served on many accreditation teams, and has done work both domestically and internationally.

Please help me welcome him to this key administrative role.
