First Strategic Planning open sessions announced

On Wednesday, CCRI officially begins the process of creating our next strategic plan. The activities during this first phase, Learning and Listening, will allow us to assess CCRI’s current state both internally and externally.

The planning process will begin with a kick-off conference call on Friday, March 10, between our consultant, Paulien & Associates, and the Strategic Planning Committee. The purpose of the call is to discuss important milestones, outreach, and outcomes for the planning process and, most importantly, for the Committee to provide college feedback.

On March 23 and 24, Paulien and Associates will be on campus assisting us in holding our first series of all-college open forums at our Liston, Flanagan, and Knight campuses. Similar sessions will be scheduled for our Newport County Campus in April. In these forums, and through related online activities, we will be seeking your ideas, knowledge, and feedback to provide a solid foundation for our plan. The schedule for the open forums is as follows:

March 23: Flanagan Campus, 9 to 11 a.m., Room 2144 President’s Conference Room
March 23: Liston Campus, 2 to 4 p.m., Room 1226
March 24: Knight Campus, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Room 4080

On March 24, the consultants will also meet with the Faculty Advisory Committee. This committee will consist of a member from each academic department. Vice President Rosemary Costigan will be asking each department chair to identify a faculty member to participate on this committee. We are establishing the committee to ensure that there is robust participation by the faculty in developing our college’s strategic plan.

We look forward to sharing more updates on the creation of our new strategic plan and we are excited to move ahead with broad participation from faculty, staff, and students. Regular updates will continue to be shared throughout this entire process at CCRI.edu/StratPlan and we encourage you to check in regularly.
